Built in shelves? A dark paint color makes the objects on the shelves really pop!

Tip: Pick an accent color in your room and paint only the inside for a more subtle statement.

Pick a few focal pieces to highlight on your shelf. For example, the flowers- a pop of pink draws your eye to the middle of the shelf.

Tip: Swap out the flowers for red and orange to ring in thanksgiving. Swap again for a mini christmas tree, just in time for December.

Pick three main colors to feature on your shelf.

Tip: Search used book stores for clearance books to build an inexpensive collection of the color book you would like to feature in your self.

Stack books to give small objects height.

Tip: rather than buying new items for your shelf, look around for houseplants, souvenirs and other little items you can feature.

Sometimes less is more! Play it simple and functional while still highlighting a few decorative items.

Tip: Keep the items you use near the bottom of the shelf so it doesn’t look empty when you are using it.
